Alternatives Public Workshop
The Florida Department of Transportation held a public workshop presenting the alternatives for the New River CSX Railroad Bascule Bridge PD&E Study on November 17, 2009. The meeting included a presentation about the evaluation of bridge rehabilitation and replacement alternatives proposed to the New River CSX Railroad Bascule Bridge.
On display for public review were all viable alternatives that have been developed. FDOT and consultant staff was available to discuss the project and answer questions on an individual basis. Forms were available for those who chose to make written comments.
The goal of this workshop was to collect and evaluate the public's comments on these alternatives before selecting a preferred alternative. The preferred alternative will then proceed to the next step of the PD&E process, where conceptual plans are developed and studied in greater detail prior to proceeding to the Public Hearing.
The meeting was held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame in Dania Beach, Florida. There were brief presentations at 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
